Deacon Ministry
The Deacon Ministry at New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church is dedicated to serving and supporting the spiritual and practical needs of the congregation. Deacons are appointed to assist the Pastor in various aspects of church ministry, including but not limited to assisting with worship services, visitations, and outreach programs.
Responsibilities of Deacons:
Supporting the Pastor: Deacons work closely with the Pastor to ensure the spiritual well-being of the church community.
Assisting in Worship Services: Deacons play a vital role in the worship services by leading prayers, serving communion, and assisting with baptisms.
Visitation and Care: Deacons visit and provide support to church members in times of need, such as illness, grief, or other life challenges.
Community Outreach: Deacons participate in community outreach programs to spread the message of faith and support those in need.
Financial Stewardship: Deacons assist in overseeing the financial matters of the church and ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
Requirements for Deacons:
Spiritual Maturity: Deacons should demonstrate a strong commitment to their faith and a deep understanding of the teachings of the Bible.
Servant Leadership: Deacons are called to serve the congregation with humility, compassion, and integrity.
Good Standing in the Church: Deacons must be active, faithful members of the church who uphold its values and beliefs.
Training and Equipping: Deacons are encouraged to participate in ongoing training and development to enhance their understanding of ministry and leadership.
